The un-willing twilighter

Ahhhhh.....Twilight.

Months ago, everyone started talking about this book. Twilight this and Twilight that...blah blah blah. It was all I heard. I couldn't escape it. Let me set this straight...I don't like vampires! When the whole Anne Rice craze was going on...I couldn't have cared less. I didn't get it. They hold no appeal for me.

But...people kept talking, as they tend to do...

An then I saw a trailer for the movie. It looked....interesting, romantic, exciting, thrilling...

Could there be more to this whole Twilight thing that I had previously thought? I asked for the books for Christmas. And when they arrived in the mail from my mother...I opened them early. I was hooked.

One chapter and I was in. Her characters, her writing...sucked me in. Even if I had to get up and do something for the kids or anything...one sentence and I was in. I read the book like watching a movie...mesmerized and wanting more.

I have now completed the series in less than two weeks!!!

What I discovered...for myself and maybe a lot of women...was an amazing and intense love story. Without the "traditional" blood and gore of other vampire novels. Who wouldn't want to be loved the way Edward loves Bella? The addition of all the Indian Folklore and history and geography...just made it too appealing.

yes....I had become...a Twilighter...

And so.....my first Twilight Lo. (credits:Obsession, Valorie Brown at Funky Playground. Leiko Beck overlay, Oscraps. Cris Script, Darcy Baldwin @ Sweet Shoppe) ahhh...I wish that man would BITE me!

Javelinas, Christmas and NyQuil...

Awww....look at this cute little furry thing right???

Wrong! Christmas Eve we were visitied by two javelinas. And they are mean creatures. Living out in the boonies is nice sometimes. It's real quiet, bunnies, quail and other cute critters play in our yard. But then the occassional coyote, bobcat and apparently now...flippin javelina come enjoy our space.

Yuck. Christmas was great. The kids got spoiled rotten. Jacob is so in love with Kota! He says it's his best friend. He talks to him, hugs him and pretty much involves Kota in everything he does.

Braden got Biscuit..that thing is soooooooo cute. And he loves it! They both got so much it's crazy. Jacob got tons of super hero goodies, that is kind of his "thing" now, and Braden got lots of Elmo stuff. It was a good day. Even mommy got spoiled this year.

For the first year EVER my MIL didn't buy me a "bed in a bag". My bedroom walls are painted deep wine red, have been for years...yet every year she would buy me some wierd, random and un-matching bed set...dunno. Anyway, this year I got lots of girlie goodies!!! We also got a video camera that I am super stoked about.

And now....we all have this terrible, nasty cold. Both the kids are like zombies...it's awful. :(
But enough of that.
Have a blessed and safe New Years everyone!
